Rug maintenance and cleaning

A rug with its beautiful appearance can emphasize the character of any interior. In order for us to enjoy its impeccable appearance as long as possible, it should be properly taken care of. Systematic cleaning is essential to keeping your rug looking beautiful. However, each of the materials requires slightly different methods of maintenance.

Wool rugs:

The rug requires regular vacuuming. The best way is to use the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner with a squeegee, not a brush.

Wet stains should be removed immediately with a damp cloth. However, you must remember to use cool water for this purpose. Hot water will shrink the woolen fibers, leaving a mark after cleaning. A mild soap can be used for larger stains.

Cleaning agents that contain oxygen should not be used.

To maintain the intensity of the colour, avoid using a wool rug in very sunny places.

Wool rugs are usually cut to length by hand. So it may happen that a few threads will be longer than the rest of the rug. These fibers should not be pulled out as this may damage the structure of the rug. The best way is to trim the single strands to the desired length with sharp scissors.

A rug made of wool may slightly dust at the beginning - this is a natural feature of this material. However, we assure you that it is not in any way bothersome or harmful. To speed up the end of the dusting process, you should vacuum the rug more often than usual. The brush nozzle cannot be used for this purpose - it may damage the structure of the rug.

Wool as a natural raw material has its own characteristic smell, which evaporates completely over time.

During use, the fleece of the rug turns in different directions, slightly deforms or wears out. The shades of the rug may therefore vary slightly from place to place.

You should not wash rugs by soaking them completely.

Acrylic / polyester rugs:

To clean acrylic or polyester rug, only use a vacuum cleaner with a squeegee nozzle. Using brushes or turbo brushes will increase dusting of the rug and may permanently damage the product. You should also pay attention to the suction power of the vacuum cleaner - it cannot be too high.

Like a wool rug, acrylic dusts. This is a natural feature and will pass over time.

Polyester and acrylic dries very quickly. So you can use steam to remove deep dirt.

You should avoid getting the rug wet, and we also do not soaking it with water when washing.

Remove all dirt as soon as possible. In the event of wet or larger stains, they can be removed using the shampooing method.

Silk / Synthetic silk / Viscose rugs:

To prevent colour fading, avoid using a rug in very sunny places.

Only clean with products intended for this purpose. The best method for this type of fiber is to use a dry cleaning powder, which should then be thoroughly vacuumed or shaken. Alternatively, other mild detergents can be used.

If your rug gets wet, dry it as soon as possible. The moisture left in it will cause the multiplication of microorganisms.

Do not use bleaching chemicals, viscose fiber does not tolerate this type of detergent.

Polypropylene rugs:

To maintain a beautiful appearance and softness of the rug, vacuum it regularly. Use the squeegee nozzle. The brush nozzle may disturb or even damage the structure of the product.

Larger stains can be removed with cleaning agents intended for this purpose, however, excessive soaking should be avoided. After wet cleaning, the rug must dry for approximately 12 hours.

However, polypropylene rugs are very easy to clean. Most dirt should be removed with a mild soap solution and lukewarm water.

Important:

Dusting of the rugs is not the basis for product complaints. This is a natural process that is not harmful even for people with allergies. A complaint is considered when the pile of the rug becomes thinner as a result of dusting.

Due to the use of various production methods, the sizes may differ by +/- 2% from the dimensions given by the manufacturer on the product label.

It's important to remember to use special-purpose cleaning agents for rugs, while paying attention to what type of fibers the product has been created for.
